Humanity is nearing its end.
The machines are on the verge of seizing control after making evil plans in the shadows over the years. Only GHOST, a special government unit, can oppose the machine revolution, but it seems the whole city is conspiring against them.

Always in the majority at the beginning of the game. They want to protect the network with blue firewall data chips and finish their mech “Apex”. Sometimes they lose their advantage by other factions secretly recruiting humans.
Almost always present, just in small numbers. They want to contaminate the network with red virus data chips, as well as destroy all resources in the warehouse of the humans. At the same time, they want to build their secret weapon “Deus”, which can carry the ‘Human Punishment’ virus directly into the network, if nobody should stop it. During the game, the Machines get information about who the Humans are and can even recruit 1 human if they are understaffed.
If the Legion is in the game, they start alone, but they have several ways to infect 1-2 players. Secretly, the Legion is working on lowering the city’s security level as low as possible or raising the enemy threat level as high as possible. To accomplish this, they use their emerging followers called Crawlers, while also using some other sneaky tricks.
Sometimes 1 character is secretly Fallen. Through wrong tracing and misinformation, they try to send grey spam data chips to the junkyard or into the network. The Fallen character is always alone in his team, but their victory conditions overwrite those of all other factions and therefore make them unpredictable!
Outlaws suddenly appear out of all corners of the city. Coordinated attacks are very untypical for them. Due to their massive presence they significantly reduce the city’s most important assets and increase the danger on the streets. Who controls them from the shadows?
Even though the government has always been breathing down our necks since GHOST SQUAD was founded, and would have loved to take the project to the moon, they are now very grateful that we exist. We worked hard to put together the perfect team, and it was anything but easy. Everyone on the team has exceptional talents, and they have mastered all the tasks we set them with bravura. Everything was demanded of them, both physically and mentally, so that they are ready for the worst-case scenario.
The Beginning is a complete and independent gaming experience. However, there is the option to combine it as a full-length campaign with Human Punishment – Social Deduction 2.0. The concept of combining two independent games from different genres is new. We call this a ‘Connecting World System’, or CWS for short. Through CWS, you will experience the beginning of the Human Punishment story with The Beginning. Throughout this journey, your decisions and actions will create specialized conditions and unlock unique outcomes, which then affect how the next game in the campaign is played: Human Punishment – Social Deduction 2.0. Here, you play the big final battle and write your own story, which thanks to all the variables, will be different every night!
Keep in mind that your loyalty is also maintained from Game 1 to Game 2, so between the games you will not be able to avoid trash talk. A unique evening awaits you!
