You have 5 Explorers with Powers 1 to 5. In each round, you bid all but one of your Explorers into regions of the island. No matter how many Explorers you bid into a region, you only get 1 action there. Actions are taken in each region from highest to lowest Power.

In the Forest, you claim resource cards to gain clay, palm, and ebony. These are used to pay tribute to the spirits of Buru.

At the Shore, you acquire Islander cards and place them into your tableau. The best actions in this region let you recruit multiple Islanders and cycle the recruitment row, in any combination.

Your Islanders’ abilities are triggered at the Village. Some abilities can be chained as an engine.

At the Sacred Lake, you pay tribute to the water spirit Banyu, the mountain spirit Gunung, and the ancestral spirit, Manuk. This earns you the Esteem of the Islanders (Victory Points). Elders are also swayed here, giving you private goals to pursue.
